Purple And Craft

Hi scrappers! Welcome to June! This week I bring you a very purple page featuring a photo that was taken in Las Vegas at Area 15. There is a bar there with a big tree where the leaves light up and change color. That’s what all those lights are in the background of my photo. It was a really unique place and made for a unique photo.

I started with a piece of ombre paper from the Colorbok Ombre Energized stack that came in the June Cherry Box from A Cherry on Top Crafts. I layered over some text print kraft from Craftsmart’s Kraft Basics pad and added some purple patterned paper that mimics the lights in my photo from DCWV’s No Prob Llama stack. I had recently received some TCW stencil butter in a previous Cherry Box and I liked it so much I bought some other colors. I used the orchid color and a this stencil to create some textured embellishments. A laser cut tag by Bo Bunny and some metallic flower stickers from The Happy Planner Pressed Florals sticker book add different textures and finishes. I added some purple enamel dots by The Paper Studio as a finishing touch.

This page was created for the Becky Fleck 279 challenge at Cherry on Top. I used one horizontal photo instead of two vertical ones but kept the title placement and the tag embellishment pretty much the same.

This page was also created for the Kraft + June challenge which was monochrome. The color I picked was obviously purple and I tried to vary the textures and finishes I used to make the page more exciting. Glitters, metallics and mattes come together with materials like cork, tule and silk flowers.

Be Your Own Kind Of Normal

Every Shade Of Blue

Hi scrappers! This week I bring you a very blue page. It’s amazing how many blue products I found in my stash and how many different shades and tones of blue there are. This photo was taken pre-Covid at the Flutter Experience in Los Angeles. This particular photo was taken in a room covered in constantly changing projections.

I used some deep blue cardstock from the Splash stack by The Paper Studio and layered some basic white cardstock over it. I painted some abstract blue designs with watered down acrylic paints and some shimmer watercolors by Yasutomo. I ended up covering up most of it in the end but it created a nice effect around the edges. I used a combination of paper strips and washi tape on the left side of the page, including some of these that I found on Amazon and the blue polka dot design from the Dylusions set by Ranger. I used some Vicki Boutin ephemera as a fun and unique title and some puffy stickers from the Echo Park New Day collection.

This page was created for the White…With 1 May challenge where this month’s color was obviously blue. I drew inspiration from the watercolors and how the colored pencils look like stripes. I also wanted to incorporate all the different shades of blue as well.

This page was also created for the May challenge at Sketch N Scrap. I loved the rainbow ribbons down the side and recreated it in various shades of blue.

Life Itself Is The Most Wonderful FairyTale

One Pattern, Many Products

Hi everyone! These week I tried to cram as many products from the May Cherry Box as possible into one page. I used some photos taken up near June Lake, California. I had packed a two-toned vintage dress I found on Etsy because I know the color would go great with the changing Fall foliage. My husband took some pretty great photos and I paired them with lots of whimsical florals, butterflies and fairies.

I used some deep red damask paper from The Paper Studio’s Affinity stack as my background and used some DCWV neutral cardstock as a mat since the red paper was very thin. I created a paper collage using some solid colored paper scraps and two sheets from Memory Place’s Enchanted origami squares. added matching ephemera and washi tape as well as some journaling cards, using one as a title and the other I cut into tags with a Marvy Uchiha punch. Lastly, I embellished with some Bo Bunny brads and K & Company stickers.

This page was created for the Sketches in Thyme May challenge. I liked all the paper layering and made something similar with the paper pieces I had. I used a circular floral piece of ephemera and placed it where the large circle in the sketch was. Both tags and the title placement were kept the same as the sketch as well.

Travel Far

Wonderful Watercolors

Hi scrappers!I’m back again with a teal toned page. I used a photo from a trip to Hawaii and my swimsuit ended up being the Inso from this teal and green page. This page was also great for using up weird little bits and bobs in the corresponding colors, like that little green star and big multifaceted rhinestone. Want to use up one-off items in your stash? Give this layout a try!

I started off by painting stripes in various heights using Yasutomo shimmer watercolors which I received in my May Cherry Box from A Cherry on Top Crafts. While the pictures don’t do it justice, the water colors catch the light and reflect beautiful iridescent shimmer. The one problem I had is that the white cardstock I used is definitely not watercolor paper. I used too much water and my paper warped a little. In the future I will have to use these paints for splatter effects or something else that uses minimal water when painting on standard cardstock.

I used a couple of paper scraps to mat my photo and then used a variable grab bag of embellishments. Some teal stickers by Zdolakids were the perfect color. I bought a big bag of random stickers and some of them I honestly wasn’t sure if I would ever use, like the big emerald jewel sticker. It ended up being a great match with the colors on this page. Some wave stickers by Jolee’s Boutique and enamel dots by The Paper Studio looked nice scattered around. Some skinny green washi tape by Create 365 and Bo Bunny jewels add some finishing touches.

This page was created for the Artastic May challenge. This year, each month’s inspiration is a different store display. I really liked the plants in this one and the blue stripes gave me the perfect reason to use my new watercolors. I painted stripes in shades of blue, green and teal in a similar pattern to the inspo pic. I then embellished with anything and everything teal in my stash. This time, I didn’t use any sort of sketch for a reference which is something I hardly ever do. I like having at least some sort of guideline that I can visualize as I put my page together. This time I just winged it but I still like the end result!

Bring A Little Sunshine, Leave A Little Magic

Brilliant Botanicals

Hi scrappers! This week I bring you lots of leaves and flowers in this English garden inspired layout. This picture of my sister and I was taken in my parent’s backyard. My mom has always maintained a beautiful garden so it’s only fitting this page be covered in flowers.

I started with some double sided paper from the Enchanted collection by Memory Pace. I immediately fell in love with the vine and lantern detail across the top soI wanted to make that a focus on my page. I tore out that detail along with the text in the bottom right hand corner which I used as a title. I pasted that onto some Fairy Tale paper from the same collection that had a similar color palette. I matted my photo using the reverse side of my title paper as well as some green paper from the Entirely Textures stack by The Paper Studio. Some matching ephemera and some transparent flower stickers finished the page.

This page was created for Becky Fleck Challenge #275 at A Cherry on Top Crafts. This was another sketch where I thought I knew what I watched to do, but ended up changing it up halfway through. This particular page strayed pretty far from the original sketch since I only had one photo instead of four and moved where my title was. I replaced the additional photos and tag embellishment with flower stickers, and rather than a straight linear stripe along the top of my page, I used my asymmetrical torn plant detail.

Birthday Boy

Cookies And Ice Cream

Hi scrappers! This week I bring you one more page featuring products from the April Cherry Box from A Cherry on Top Crafts. My May box is already here and I can’t wait to start creating, but I found such a perfect photo to go with the cute ice cream print paper in last month’s collection that I decided to wait a week.

This photo was taken a couple of years ago at BJ’s restaurant where we got a birthday Pizookie for my husband. If you’ve never had the pleasure of eating one, it’s a deep dish cookie topped with ice cream. I think in this photo we got cinnamon pull apart monkey bread instead of the traditional cookie. It’s definitely a tasty treat!

I knew I wanted to use the cookie paper from Paper Pizazz’s Yummy stack. I’ve had these papers a very long time but they are so bold and specialized that it’s had to use them without the perfect photo. I cut down my ice cream paper from Echo Park Paper Company’s New Day collection and matted it on some basic white cardstock. A matching tag and stickers continued the ice cream theme. A sticker from The Happy Planner’s Modern Farmhouse sticker book made a nice background for my title The page looked unfinished so I added lots of enamel dots for a simple, yet adorable page.

This page was created for Becky Fleck Challenge #274 at A Cherry on Top. I liked the thick boarder because that allowed me to display the perfect amount of cookie patterned paper. I used one big photo instead of the three smaller ones. I feel like I never have photos I can crop that small! I replaced the smaller circular embellishment with a tag instead.

LM #597 - Something Old - use something old on your layout (an old photo, scrapbook paper, or supplies you've had for 10+ years, etc.)

When I say I’ve had that cookie paper, for a long time, I mean it. I can’t remember when exactly I bought it, but there is a copyright date inside the cover of the paper stack from the year 2000! I’m not even sure Paper Pizazz exists as a company anymore! I still have quite a few pages in that booklet to use up. Hopefully I find the perfect photos for all those future pages!

You Belong Among The Wildflowers

Rainbow-Colored Flowers

Hi scrappers! This week brings another Spring-themed, flower-filled layout using products from the Echo Park Paper Company’s New Day collection. I used more photos from my trip to the Carlsbad Flower Fields because they work so well with all these pretty papers!

I started with the pink plaid side of Echo Park’s Full Bloom paper. I used the reverse sides of paper left over from a previous page that were both rainbow florals and cut them into large triangles. I spare piece of lavender card stock was a great color to use as a mat for two of my photos. I used flower stickers from The Happy Planner’s Pressed Florals Sticker Book along with some New Day tags, one of which I used as a title. Some New Day brads, bits of purple ribbon, and some puffy star trim finish off this colorful page.

This page was created for the April challenge at Scrap Our Stash. I like their unique, geometric sketch since I don’t usually cut my papers into triangles. I included the star trim as my star-shaped embellishment.

Celebrate Today With Naps

Primary Colors and Paper Quilting

Hello everyone! This week I take a break from pastels and florals to bring you a bright and bold look with primary colors. I used a 5 X 7 photo of my kitty Jupiter. She loves to curl up like a croissant while sleeping and I snapped this photo during one of her naps. She looks so cozy!

I started with some blue paper with a subtle pattern from The Paper Studio’s Entirely textures stack and layered some basic black cardstock over it. I then raided my paper stack for any red, blue and yellow papers I had and cut 1 1/2 inch squares. I arranged a grid of both solid and patterned pieces in sort of a paper quilt and placed my photo over the top. I used stickers by Amy Tangerine, Dear Lizzy and Shimelle along with some cute cat ephemera by Photoplay. A few brads and a bow and enamel dots by The Paper Studio make simple yet impactful embellishments. An epoxy metal clip by Simple Stories finishes the page.

This page was created for the April challenge at 1 2 3 Challenge Blog. I like the fact that this sketch gave me the opportunity to use up a lot of my little scraps by utilizing paper piecing. My guillotine cutter came in extra handy for making uniform squares. Instead of using two photos, I turned the smaller square into my title.

Keep Flourishing

Spring Pastels

Hi scrappers! This week I bring you another page using the Dear Lizzy New Day collection by Echo Park Papers that came in the April Cherry Box from A Cherry on Top. This is the perfect collection for Spring with their floral patterns and pretty pastels. I used a photo on this layout that was taken at beachside flower field. We had gotten a lot of rain that year so many places in Southern California were experiencing a super bloom. The flowers grew nearly right down to the sand and were so dense, you had to keep to the trail. I don’t think I’ve seen that same area bloom like that since.

I started with basic white cardstock because I know I was going to be mixing a lot of patterns. I cut a large rectangle of Echo Park Paper Company’s Beautiful Blooms paper and used the green side. I matted my photo with pale green cardstock, leaving thicker borders than what I normally do and then cut three long strips from Hand Picked and Bee Buddies papers and arranged them under my photo. I added a couple of New Day tags and stickers and used some baker’s twine to create four little pennant flags that matches the color palette of the page.

This page was also created for Sketch N Scrap’s April challenge. I like the simplicity of the sketch because it allowed lots of room for interpretation. I used one photo instead of two and added plenty of small embellishments instead of one big one. I liked the opportunity it presented to use so many patterned papers.

Emphasis On The Paper

Hi scrappers! With April comes the New Day collection from Dear Lizzy that I received in my Cherry Box from A Cherry on Top Crafts. I couldn’t wait to try out these products emphasizing fresh spring prints and pastel rainbows. The photos I used were taken at the Carlsbad flower fields where they had a giant blue chair you could take fun pictures with. Since I was so posed in these photos and clearly look like the photo op it was, I like the ideas of using the camera print from the Pretty as a Picture paper.

The paper I used is double sided and I knew I wanted to feature both sides so I cut it into three parts and used the smaller pieces on the edges with the camera print showing. The dark blue was a better contrast for my photos and I felt would have been too busy if I had them beneath the camera print. The paper I used to mat my photos was the Sizzix paper roll in Limoncello. The color paired nicely but I had to use some really strong adhesive dots since the paper curved dramatically after being rolled up in its tube.

It was really nice having so many products from the same collection because all the colors and themes matched and I could easily mix and match what I used. I used New Day chipboard as well as some Frames and Tags and some fake flowers I already had on hand. Lastly, I added my favorite embellishment to this page which was a circle of pastel rainbow brads.

This page was created for the Sketches in Thyme April challenge. I took a lot of liberties with this sketch since I didn’t have four vertical photos. Instead I used one horizontal and one vertical photo plus some tags and chipboard to fill the same space. I liked the two vertical stripes framing the page but didn’t add the additional shapes because the camera print was already so busy. To replicate the circle in the sketch, I used pastel brads spaced evenly apart which made for a simple, yet impactful embellishment.

Let The Good Times Roll

Desert Themes And Earthy Tones

Hi scrappers! Welcome to April! Spring usually means flowers and bunnies and rain showers, at least here in the USA, but this week I bring you a desert-themed layout featuring cactus rather than flowers and earth tones rather than pastels. I took a trip to Borrego Springs last year and ventured out onto a dry lake bed. Golden afternoon light is always the most flattering so I snapped a few selfies. (Yes these have been run through FaceTune. My skin is not that perfect!)

I started with a piece of brown text print paper that looks old and distressed from the Everyday Heroes Collection from Heartfelt Creations. I matted it with some green cardstock from DCWV’s Neutrals stack. I then raided my stash of paper scraps for pieces that would match my color palette and cut 2” X 3” rectangles. A tag from Prima Marketing’s Golden Desert ephemera collection fills the gap as well as provides a title. It was a little too large so I had to cut it down. A couple of cactus from the same ephemera pack pair well with some golden washi tape by The Paper Studio and some stickers from the Carpe Diem Beautiful mini sticker tablet. I keep buying these sticker books made for planners and using them on my pages. They work so well and there’s so many cute ones on the market!

I think my favorite detail is the prickly pear cactus wearing sunglasses. This came from the green bujo pad by JHGCVX. I like how these are organized by color. It makes really easy to find an image that will work with your current page and color palette. I finished off with some enamel dots by The Paper Studio and Simple Stories because enamel dots are my favorite!

This page was created for the Color My Heart Color Dare #489 challenge. It was a tic-tac-toe challenge and the three colors I chose were Ballerina, Sage and Mocha. However, I added in some Gold and Desert Rose as well to give the page more variety.

This page was also made for Becky Fleck challenge #270 at Cherry on Top. Since the photos I was using were much bigger than those in the sketch, I made the rectangles a little smaller and rearranged them around my photos. I used washi tape to replicate the vertical banding on the upper left square, and embellished with a cactus rather than a bicycle. I really liked using this sketch for inspiration while tweaking it to fit the photos I had.

Kitties And Glitter

Hello everyone! This week I bring you another pet-centric page featuring my kitty Jupiter. She likes to sit in front of our slider door and sunbathe. In this picture, she’s hoping I’ll let her out so she can sit on the patio for a while.

Once again, I used paper from the Amy Tangerine Brave + Bold paper stack that came in my March Cherry Box from A Cherry on Top Crafts. I used some bright pink petal paper and some blue and green striped paper left over from a previous page I made with the same paper collection. I used a piece or orange cardstock from the American Crafts Spring cardstock stack to mat by background paper. I had some yellow and orange paper scraps that weren’t quite big enough individually to be photo mats so I used them both to create a dual-toned design.

Some acrylic paint and craft glitter paired well with a stencil by The Crafters Workshop and I used it to create some circle embellishments both over and under my paper layers. a photo frame by Heidi Swapp proves a great space to add some cat puffy stickers by The Paper Studio. additional circular stickers by Doodle Bug and matching stickers from the Brave + Bold collection tie the page together.

This page was created for the Scrap Our Stash March challenge where I had to use circles on my layout.

This page was also created for Color my Heart challenges. The challenge was to use at least three of the provided colors but I ended up using all five as well as black, white and a little bit of gold which were freebies.

Make A Life You Love

Mixed Media Collage

Hi scrappers! This week I bring you a pretty mixed media page featuring nature themes and Autumn vibes. The photo I used was taken near June Lake in California just as the leaves were beginning to change colors. I happened to be wearing a yellow cardigan that matched the pretty foliage and made for a striking photo.

I used a brown piece of paper from the DCWV Letterpress stack. The flower detail on the right is embossed into the paper and reminded me of some of the prickly foliage in my photo. I used a piece of pale yellow vellum and used some adhesive squares to tack it down. I covered where the adhesive was showing with some Idea-ology ephemera by Tim Holtz. The one with the bird nest was perfect because it matched my outdoor theme.

At this point I used some Jacquard Lumiere acrylic paint in Sunset Gold and a Crafters Workshop stencil that came in my March Cherry Box to add some metallic accents and texture. I used some green paper from The Paper Studio’s Entirely Textures stack and some lavender cardstock to mat my photo and a sticker from the Amy Tangerine sticker book as my title. I used a pictured from a green themed bujo pad and a little metal owl charm by The Paper Studio as final nature-themed touches.

This page was made for the Lasting Memories March challenge which was as follows:

LM #589 - "Trims" - Ribbon, twine, washi tape, or paper strips - use some sort of trim on your layout.

I used some purple floral washout tape to help tack down my vellum as well as some very skinny green washi tape by Me & My Big Ideas.

This page was also made using Becky Fleck sketch #268 at Cherry on Top. In order to feature the embossed design on my background paper, I used a much thinner strip of paper beneath my photo and shifted it to the left. I kept the idea of vertical stripe embellishments but moved them around a little. I used my Fiskars squeeze punch to create a similar circle like in the sketch as well. This punch is so handy and one of my favorite tools.

Flower Memories

Mixing Patterns And Keeping It Simple

Hi scrappers! This week, I continue to play with products from the March Cherry Box from A Cherry on Top. This picturesque photo is the first photo of many we took at the Carlsbad Flower Fields. We spent the afternoon walking amongst gorgeous ranunculus fields in a rainbow of colors and got some amazing photos. The bright colored flowers in the background really go well with the Amy Tangerine papers that came in my Cherry box.

All patterned papers on this page are from the Brave & Bold stack. I also used some butterfly stickers from the same collection. Since there’s a lot of bold prints going on, I kept the embellishments super simple and just used a few enamel dots from Pinkfresh and Simple Stories. I found a piece of dark pink handmade paper that I used as a mat for my photo. I have no idea where it came from or how long I’ve had it. Does that happen to anyone else? Warning: normal rubber cement did NOT work on this paper and I had to revert to some super sticky adhesive dots to attach my photo. Some light blue cardstock from American Craft’s Spring stack worked well to break up all the contrasting patterns on the page. Some floral alpha stickers by Recollections were the perfect addition to this page.

This page was created for Sketch N Scrap’s March contest. The four panels behind the photos provided a great opportunity to showcase all the great spring time patterns on my page. I made sure to pick a light and a dark paper so I could alternate them and have some good contrast.

This page was also created for Scrap Our Stash’s theme challenge which was “Springtime.” I Used flowers both in in my patterned paper and alpha stickers. The photo I used was also full of lots of spring blooms!

You Are The Best

Playing With The March Cherry Box

Hi everyone! This week I am working with some special products because I received my very first Cherry Box from A Cherry on Top crafts. I know there’s subscription boxes for everything these days: makeup, clothes, candy, etc. I was skeptical when I heard there was a box for scrapbooking since I already own more crafting supplies (paper especially) than I could ever hope to use, and wasn’t sure if what would come in the box would be something I would actually use. I received a subscription as a Christmas gift and finally got around to activating it last month. My first box came last week and I was delighted with what came inside. I tried to incorporate as many products as possible into this week’s layout. My job was made a little easier since many of the products came from Amy Tangerine’s Brave and Bold collection so they had complimentary designs. You can see all the products I received in my Cherry Box below. P.S. I didn’t get paid to collaborate or promote these products. I just wanted to share how I used the products I received.

Most of the paper used on this page came from the Brave and Bold stack by American Crafts with a few added solid colored paper scraps to mat my photo. My title and the large circles all came from some large grid printed paper and I used my Fiskars circular squeeze punch to create circle details. A new product I had never used before was stencil butter by The Crafter’s Workshop. I hadn’t used any sort of texture paste or anything like that on my pages previously so this was totally new to me and a product I probably wouldn’t have bought for myself. I received the color Terre Verde which picked up some of the green tones in the Amy Tangerine papers. A 12 X 12 stencil template also by The Crafter’s Workshop was included and I used the stencil butter to fill in some of the circular shapes both before and after gluing down my photo and embellishments. Some matching Brave and Bold stickers, some colorful bows by Recollections, and various circular brads and punches complete this vibrant page.

This page was created for the Sketches in Thyme March challenge. I kept the single photo layout and the circle motif, although I mixed stencils with paper punches for more variety. I also used the Brave and Bold pens that came in my box and replicated the dashed line squiggles in the original sketch.

This page was also created for the More Than Words March challenge. I used a Shakespeare quote from a DCWV vellum quote stack and created a tag behind it out of textured cardstock.

Happy Here And Now

Gold And Teal Textures

Hi scrappers! This week I bring you a page featuring some photos taken back in 2018 when I went to Iceland. It turned out to be a trip of a lifetime and we saw so many amazing things. We spent a day at the famed Blue Lagoon which is a geothermal pool and spa. If you ever get the opportunity to go, I highly recommend it.

I started with a sheet of paper from the Metallic Collage stack by Paper Pizazz. This paper alone already had a lot of textures and elements that I didn’t want to cover up . I added some gold geometric paper from The Paper Studio’s Mint to be Fab stack as well as a leftover scrap of teal damask paper and decided this added enough layers and interest as papers go. I used a pale blue and gold frame from Heidi Swapp and filled it with picture from a tear away bujo pad. Stickers from Vicki Boutin and Journal Studios and glittery gold brads by Recollections add final touches.

This page was created for the Becky Fleck Sketch Challenge #265 at Cherry on Top. I definitely strayed from the wild animal theme shown in the example sketch but I did some similar paper layering and kept my title in the same place (which I feel usually doesn’t happen.) I used some big feather embellishments by Jolee’s Boutique in similar places as the animals, and threw in lots of extra details as always, making sure to include lots of gold to match the gilded floral detail on my background paper.

Yellow, Mint And Tropical Touches

Hi scrapers! This week I bring you another warm and summery page with contrasts greatly with the cold, dreary weather outside. Even here in Southern California, we are missing our usual sunshine. The photo featured was taken during a trip to the island of Oahu and I’m definitely missing their beaches, food and island vibes.

I started with some dark kraft-colored cardstock from the Affinity stack by The Paper Studio. I used some double-sided paper from Authentique’s Utopia collection. Pineapples, teal scallops and tiny sea turtles all fit well with my Hawaiian-themed page. The title is made up of a mixed media sticker by Momenta and a sticker from the Mambi travel sticker book. Chipboard stickers from Echo Park’s Good Day Sunshine collection and puffy stickers from American Craft’s Goldenrod collection add more beachy embellishments. I also used some Heidi Swapp ephemera in yellow and mint tones and some Jolee’s Boutique shells.

This page was created for the Sketches in Thyme February challenge. I loved all the paper layering in this layout because that’s something I do on a lot of my pages anyway. Using double-sided paper allowed me to feature more paper patterns and some of the color coordinating was already done for me. I kept a lot of the same elements like a piece of twine on a tag and arrows. I used a vellum arrow and secured it with some brads by Love + Lemon. As always, I added lots of additional embellishments to jazz up my page.

This page was also created for Kraft + Challenges. The theme this month was fruit! I used lots of pineapple and citrus elements on my page from paper, to tags to stickers. I love the bright and fresh feel the yellow fruity elements bring to my page!

Sparkles, Bunnies And Flowers

Hello everyone. This week I bring you another page with some nature vibes. These photos were taken in Mammoth, California when the leaves were changing colors. I found this dress at a thrift store and thought the green color would go great with the yellow leaves.

I used some double sided paper from DCWV’s Country Manor stack. I wanted to display both sides so I used a second piece and cut a strip to display the sparkly blue side. I added some puffy stickers from One Two Canoe’s Goldenrod collection and some Heidi Swapp ephemera. Some transparent floral stickers, and stickers from The Happy Planner’s Modern Farmhouse sticker book all add nature elements and lots of green. Some bunny brads by Eyelet Outlet perfectly match the bunnies in the patterned paper.

Turtle & Chill

Teal, Tropics And Texture

Hi scrappers! It’s still chilly and windy here but this week I bring you a fresh and summer-inspired page that’s sure to make you feel a little warmer. This photo was taken in Hawaii where sea turtles abound. Turtles were once endangered but thanks to strict conservation laws enacted by the local government, they have made an astounding comeback. However, there are still strict laws in place including not being allowed to even touch the turtles. This little guy swam right up to me since a rock I was near was covered in the vegetation but I made sure to keep my distance. Even though they are gentle, their fins can pack a punch and I was not in the mood to get turtle slapped, accidentally or otherwise!

I started with some yellow-green ombre paper from The Paper Studio’s Be-Hue-Tiful stack. I layered over some various paper scraps including some swirly magenta paper that matched the swimsuit I was wearing. A large, square text sticker by Recollections and a sparkly turtle die cut by K & Company were the perfect colors to go with both my background paper and my photo. A dimensional sticker of the Hawaiian islands and some flip flops and towel by Jolee’s Boutique were the perfect tropical accents. They also add a lot of texture. The towel is actual embroidered fabric and there is real sand around the flip flops! The title is made up of Thickers and Stick-A-Bilities alpha stickers and a sticker from the American Crafts Amy Tangerine sticker book. I finished with enamel dots (of course!) and mini tags by K & Company.

This page was created for the Becky Fleck 261 challenge at Cherry on Top. I used a larger single portrait oriented photo rather than two smaller landscape ones. Apart from moving the title down a little bit and adding lots of extra embellishments, I stayed pretty true to the original sketch.

Travel-Themed Embellishments

Greetings scrappers! This week I bring you another outdoorsy-themed page. This photo was taken during a trip to North Lake just as the fall leaves were turning and the lake was starting to freeze. I had never been here before and it was an absolutely beautiful view!

I started with a piece of dark green paper with a subtle pattern from The Paper Studio’s Entirely Textures stack. Since this paper is quite thin, I used some DCWV khaki cardstock from their neutrals stack as a mat. I used two sheets of paper from the Bo Bunny Altitude stack beneath my photo. This paper features mountains and signs for skiing so I thought it was a good fit for a page with a photo taken in the mountains. All other paper on this page were miscellaneous scraps that I had pulled from my stash since they matched the color scheme.

I had a very old sheet of travel themed stickers by the Paper Studio and tried to use up as many of them as I could. I used them to make the title, arrows and both globes. The colors were a really great match for my color scheme. I was missing the dot over the “i” in “memories” but fortunately I had a brad that was a close size and shape to make a suitable replacement. A glass embellishment from Kaisercraft’s Journey collection was a nice touch over a tag die cut I found.

I used the image of the boy running outside from a bujo (bullet journal) tear pad. I wish I knew the brand but it’s all in Chinese. Since this particular tear pad is all vellum, it’s always a challenge to adhere them to the page since I can’t use my normal adhesive taps on transparent paper. I used a combination of multi-faceted enamel dots and some stickers from The Happy Planner Dream Seeker sticker book to hold the sheet of vellum in place.

I put my color palette together with the help of Color My Heart Color Challenges. The four colors I chose from the provided options were Sapphire, Glacier, Habour and Shortbread.

This page was also created for Sketches in Thyme #501 sketch. I liked that this entire sketch was on an angle since I don’t do that very often. The photo I used was much bigger than the one in the sketch so it took up even more of the page. I didn’t have a large paper doily soI cut a smaller one in half to keep the same feel.
