She Believed She Could So She Did

Die Cuts And Vellum

Hi scrappers! This week I used a photo that was taken earlier this year when wild mustard was growing all over Southern California after heavy rains. My husband took these dreamy photos while it was still in bloom. Fun fact: wild mustard is not indigenous to the area and is actually considered a noxious weed since it chokes out the local vegetation.

I found a piece of pink floral vellum that I believe is made by a company called Deja Views, but it is one of those items I’ve had in my stash for at least 20 years so I have no idea if that’s correct or if the company even still exists. I placed it over some basic white cardstock and used paper scraps for literally everything else on this page, including the title! I used a Sizzix Thinlits set by Tim Holtz to create the jars of flowers. I used up so many little paper scraps this way! For the jars, I made 2 diets of each, one in pale pink cardstock and one in pink vellum. When I place the vellum on top, the jars look see-through! I used up the remainder of some New Day enamel dots by Echo Park Paper Company and scattered them among the flowers. I didn’t use a lot of products but it definitely took a long arranging all the die cuts and gluing them all down.

This page was made using Becky Fleck Sketch 345 at A Cherry on Top Crafts. I rotated the sketch 90 degrees but kept the jar of flowers detail.

That’s all for this week. Thank you for visiting my page and I’ll be back in October with a new page! It will officially be spooky season so maybe I will create some spooky pages!
