Color Dare Design Team Challenge 690
Meadow Flowers
Pastel Hexagons
Hi scrappers! I have been a little lax in my crafting this month since I have had a lot going on (don’t we all?) but was able to squeeze in one more page in January although this blog won’t post until February.
This photo was taken a few years ago when all the wild mustard in our area bloomed. While it looks gorgeous, turning entire hillsides neon yellow-green, it’s incredibly invasive and chokes out indigenous plants. Since the blooms only stick around for a few weeks, we took some photos while they were at their peak and I wore a pretty, gauzy dress that I could swish around for some cool shots.
I used some off-white paper by American Crafts as my background and then used a 1-inch hexagon punch and oodles of paper scraps to build my background. I also used a few scraps to make a partial mat for my photo. I embellished with some fake flowers and fuzzy brads by Doodlebug, some foam stickers and ephemera by Simple Stories, some puffy stickers and some enamel dots. I also splattered some pink paint to break up all the plain white background, and added some wispy pink fiber in with my flowers.
Join us at Color Dare for challenge number 690. Create a project with at least 3 of the colors shown here and share it with us! I used all 4 on my page because they all appeared in my photo.
That’s all for now! I will see you all soon with another page.
