Color Dare Design Team Challenge 706

Heart And Home

Melon, Pink And Purple

Hi scrappers! I’m back again with Color Dare and an all-new color challenge. This one allows you to use a color of your choice, which I always love!

I used these selfies that I took a while back when the light was good and I actually had some makeup now.

I used some bright melon paper with dotted chevrons from the Whimsical collection by Pink Paisley. I made this my background and then used a strip of hot pink paper from the same paper stack to mat my photos. I had a scrap of plain purple cardstock that I wanted to incorporate somehow so I cut it in half and used it as a partial mat behind each photo.

I added filmstrips by both the Rouge and Color Swatch Lavender collections by 49 and Market and created clusters around them using some stickers by The Happy Planner and The Paper Studio. I also added some Flea Market ephemera by Simple Stories and used a piece as my title since the colors matched. Some butterfly diecuts by Aall & Create added pretty pops of color. Enamel dots by 49 and Market and Simple Stories finish the page.

This page was made using sketch 709 from Sketches in Thyme. I only used 2 photos instead of 3, but tried to stay true to the sketch in other ways by adding a piece of zigzag ribbon along the bottom and creating some floral embellishments with a wildflower die set by Tim Holtz. I used paper scraps I already had in my stash with my Sizzix Big Shot Machine and then glued them down in the same areas as shown in the sketch.

Join us at Color Dare for challenge #706! Use colors melon, fuchsia pink, and a color of your choice. I chose purple, not only because it’s my favorite color, but because it matched the shirt I was wearing in my photos.

That’s all for this week! I feel like I have made a record amount of pages this month so I may take the last week off from paper crafting. We’ll see how I feel. 🤭 Thank you for visiting and I’ll be back sooner or later with more scrapbooking content!
