Scrapbook Challenge

Awesome Vacation

Pink And Teal Patterns

Welcome to August! This week I scrapped some old photos from a trip to Iceland in 2018.Yes, this is the same trip that all my other Iceland photos were taken. I’ve only been once (but am dying to go back) and I still have quite a few photos to get through. These photos were taken at The Blue Lagoon which is a geothermal hot spring and one of the coolest places I’ve ever been! There are bars you can swim right up to in the middle of the pool, hence the drink in my hand. Though the water was hot and steamy, the weather, like most days though, was cold and gray.

I started with some basic teal cars stock from The Paper Studio’s Splash collection. I used the pink patterned side of Vicki Boutin’s Color Study Thumbnail paper and then found the most perfect scrap of pink and teal paper in my stash to go with it. I added several long strips of Dylusions washi tape and created my title from Amy Tangerine stickers. Some mixed media elements made with a stencil and texture paste from The Crafter’s Workshop and some Simple Stories enamel dots finish the page.

This page was created for Color My Heart’s Color Dare challenge #558. I used the bottom row from their tic tac toe grid featuring Lagoon, Mink and Raspberry. I’m so glad I found these perfect photos in my stash! I didn’t use a ton of the mink gray color but there’s a little in the photo mats, enamel dots and chevron patterned paper.

This page was also made using Becky Fleck sketch 337 over at A Cherry on Top. I used two photos instead of three and added a big title since this page didn’t have one. I also took some liberties with the journaling space and added a big camera and beaded water paper instead. Maybe someday I will journal more when I don’t hate my own handwriting, but today is not that day.

That’s it for this week. I will be back (hopefully soon?) I have so much going on in the next few weeks, plus I can’t stop playing Final Fantasy XVI. It’s so good! I am looking forward to all the fun scrapbook challenges August has to offer!
