Guest Designer with Lasting Memories June Week 4

A Mermaid Tale

Shades Of Aqua

Hi scrappers. I’m here for my final week as a guest designer with Lasting Memories for the month of June! I used some photos taken several years ago in Lake Tahoe. Look how clear the water is! The teal color in my photos inspired the color palette for the rest of my layout.

I started with some teal cardstock by The Paper Studio and then cut up some polka dot paper by Vicki Boutin and placed them in an alternating pattern across my background paper. I had a paper scrap of zig-zaggy pattern paper and cut it into 4 narrow strips. I tried to get fancy by making a woven design, placing these perpendicular to the polka dot paper, but ended up covering 90% of it as usual 😔.

I had some 12X12 paper that was basically cut-apart journal cards, all in teal tones, and used 4 of them on this page. I added in some bright blue washi tape, some seriously ancient stickers by Christine Adolph, a few doilies and some Vicki Boutin stickers. I used a stencil to add some circular elements, using texture paste by both American Crafts and Picket Fence Studios. The title is made up of both Thickers and Tim Holtz stickers.

This page was made for the June challenge at Colorful Options. The gorgeous mood board features various shades of aqua blue inspired by pools and tropical waters. They definitely matched the colors of my lake photos!

Come join us for week 4 of June challenges at Lasting Memories. This week’s challenge is to create a layout using paper pieces in the following sizes:

  • 4 - 2.5 x 10

  • 4 - .5 x 12

  • 4 - 3 x 4 (could use journal cards)

I hope you’ll join us and show us what you create!

That’s all for this week! Thank you for visiting and I will be back soon with a new scrapbooking page!
