Scrapbook Challenge

Remember Washington

Patterns And Stencils

Hi scrappers. I finished this page on the last day of July so even though those challenges are now closed, I wanted to share what I made with you.

I used some pictures of my sister and I, taken a few years ago when we visited a pumpkin patch in the Pacific Northwest, complete with a corn maze!

I used some solid purple cardstock by The Paper Studio so my brighter papers would pop. In the video, you can see me debate between different colors for my background. I almost went with green but felt it was almost painfully bright with not enough contrast. Besides by background paper, the only other paper I used that wasn’t a leftover scrap was the neon green stripe paper that comes from the Paige Evans Splendid collection. I used a Fiskars circular punch to make three circles that I decorated with stickers out of multiple sticker books as well as some puffy stickers by Thickers and Simple Stories.

I used a stencil from The Dusty Attic and stencil butters by The Crafters Workshop to add ombre mixed media details. The title was made with some very old punch out letters I had in my stash. I have no idea who the manufacturer is since I think I bought them back in the mid 2000s and no longer have the original packaging.

This page was made for the July Make the Cut challenge over at A Cherry on Top Crafts. We were given the following dimensions for paper pieces to use on our page, arranged however we liked and they all had to be patterned papers except for the background.

7 x 9
2 1/2 x 9 1/2
1 1/2 x 12
1 1/4 x 7 1/2
3 Small Circles

This page was made for case file 458 at Color Stories Inspiration. I fell in love with the color combo and knew I wanted to give this challenge a try. I used the following “evidence” in my page as well:

  • stripes

  • ombre effect

  • circles

  • puffy stickers

  • cursive font

  • texture paste

  • stencils

That’s all for now. Join me in the Month of August for a Taylor Swift themed challenge I host here. This month’s challenge is all about stripes!
