Shades Of Blue

Hi scrappers! I’m here with my first layout of August and with Color Dare challenge #664. I used some photos taken in Waikiki a few years back in front of the Hilton hotel. The water may look pretty and blue but it was actually an artificial lagoon that had quite a bit of sunscreen residue and other crud in it. I think it has since been drained which is good because the water was definitely a little gross! It just goes to show that a picture may not tell the whole story!

I found this really cool patterned paper in the depths of my stash called Turquoise Tiles by Recollections. Since the pattern was so busy, I balanced it out with some solid cardstock in various shades of blue. I had the perfect Vicki Boutin paper scrap with tropical leaves on it that I used as an accent and then added in various stickers that I got from Obujo. I especially liked the filmstrip stickers but had to put them over some pale cardstock since they were so transparent.

My title came from a Happy Planner sticker book and I added in some some pearlescent enamel dots by Craft Consortium.

Join us at Color Dare for challenge #664 and create a project with at least 2 shades of blue. I used a lot more than 2 and so can you! We can’t wait to see what blue projects you create!

I used sketch 319 from Sketch N Scrap with 2 photos instead of 3. I used 2 paper scraps for the details along the bottom along with some additional embellishments.

That’s all for now. Join me on Instagram and YouTube if you are looking for more paper crafting content!
