Ecclectic Collage
Hi scrappers! This week I made a page using some photos taken at a music venue in Los Angeles. It was fairly new at the time and the bar area had amazing wallpaper and bright yellow couches. We snapped some photos since the backdrop was so cool!
I started with some Buzzing By paper by Photoplay and then cut down a piece of Splendid paper by Maggie Holmes so the yellow would show as a border around the edges. From there, I created a collage out of various stickers and ephemera, working in some frames and chipboard words by 49 and Market. I used some stencil butter with a stencil by the Crafter’s Workshop to add a honeycomb pattern that matches that in the yellow border. Lastly, I added some wooden spool embellishments by The Paper Studio and some clear rhinestones.
I used a sketch from Challenge Yourself for this page. Normally I try and stay pretty faithful to the original sketch but that didn’t happen this time. I stacked 2 horizontal photos instead of using 2 vertical ones. I didn’t have an envelope so I created a collage out of ephemera in its place and that really changed the sketch. I used wooden spool pieces instead of leaves but did try and incorporate paint splatters and a tag with string.
Come join us for Color Dare challenge 670 and use at least 3 of the colors shown in the photo. I ended up incorporating them all plus some black and white.
That’s all for this week. Thank you for joining me and I will return soon with another page and another challenge.
