Color Dare Design Team Challenge 672

Sweetest Thing

Navy And Vanilla

Hi scrappers! For the last page for the month of September, I created a page with a photo of my cat Jupiter. Read on to see this week’s Color Dare challenge and the color palette that inspired this page!

I started with some spotted blue paper by Echo Park Paper Company as my background. I used some off white paper to mat my photo and some cardstock that was a little more yellow to place behind it. I places stripes of various thicknesses made from paper scraps, ribbon and washi tape, including some numbered washi by Vicki Boutin. I then made some tags using dies from Momento, and then created a whole lot of foliage using paper scraps and Sizzix Garden Greens and Wildflower Stems 2 dies by Tim Holtz. It ended up looking a little busy so I’m not sure if I love the final look. What do you think?

I finished with hand painting some little wooden cameras to match and used a sticker from the Moonlight Magic sticker book as my title.

This page was made for the Cherry Lift challenge over at A Cherry on Top Crafts. I chose this layout by Karen C. to lift and turned it 90 degrees to fit my photo. Instead of big leaves, I added lots of smaller botanical elements.

Join us at Color Dare and share your navy and vanilla projects with us! I added some black and white accents to mine for more variety and you can too!

My next page will come in October and I am sure there will be a number of spooky-themed challenges to participate in. I will also be hosting a Taylor Swift themed challenge here where you must use plaid paper in your project. I hope you’ll join us for all of the Evermore vibes while listening to her new album on repeat! See you all soon!
