Color Dare Design Team Challenge 686

My God, What Have I Done?

All Pink Patterns

Hi scrappers! Welcome to 2026! I’m kicking off the year with another Color Dare challenge that is all shades of pink!

This page is unique because the title actually comes from text in my photo instead of somewhere else on the page. This photo was actually taken at a brewery in San Diego (I can’t remember the name!) and the photo is angled to capture the text that was actually on the ceiling. I tried to capture all the text without giving myself too many chins with this angle 😅. I just thought it was funny to have such random text in hot pink in the alcove in front of the bathrooms so I snapped this very pink photo.

I used white cardstock by American Crafts as my background because I knew I would have a lot bright pink everywhere else. I made it slightly more interesting by adding some watered down acrylic paint. Fun fact, the iridescent paint does not behave the same way as matte.

I then used an extremely old sheet of hot pink paper with a 70s inspired print that is so old I have no idea who the original manufacturer is. I double-matted it with various pink cardstock and also my photo using some pink plaid paper from the Hello Little Girl 6 X 8 stack. The only paper scrap from my stash I used this time is the light pink paper behind the 49 and Market film strip I used because there wasn’t enough contrast putting it directly on top of my patterned paper. I added a corresponding frame over my photo at an angle just for fun and added a pink tag and banner from the Heidi Swapp Set Sail tag pack. I embellished with some thin pink washi from Bo Bunny’s Color Story collection and a pink typewriter from One Canoe Two’s Goldenrod ephemera pack. I sprinkled in some rhinestone flowers and enamel dots by Waffle Flower to finish the page.

Join us at Color Dare and show us your very pink projects! You can add lots of white like me or keep it totally pink!

I used Sketch N Scrap’s January sketch for this page since I knew it offered lots of opportunities to display multiple shades of pink.

That’s all for this week! If you’re looking for another monthly challenge to play along with, join me at the Taylor Swift-themed one I host here. This month we are playing with feathers and I hope you’ll come check it out!
