Tasty Treats

Pastel Purple, Blue And Yellow

Hi scrappers. This post is bittersweet as it follows the passing of on of my cats, Jupiter. I got her as an 8-week-old kitten and 15 years later, she succumbed to her fight with cancer. Making this page was incredibly hard as the house still feels so empty and quiet without her. I will miss her chatty meows, the way she would seek out my lap when I’m reading or playing video games, and how she would always follow me into the kitchen to see if she could convince me to feed her something tasty. Rest in peace my beautiful baby. Home won’t be the same without you.

These photos were taken by my husband when he was feeding them a Churu treat. Jupiter especially loved these and would sometimes bite through the plastic in her enthusiasm.

I used some lavender cardstock by The Paper Studio as my background. I then cut a piece of subtly patterned lavender paper (brand unknown) into 3 strips to create panels behind my photos. I cut an 8 1/2 X 11 blue paper by Paper Pizazz down to an 8 X 8 square and then used a Stampers Anonymous stencil with some frosty blue stencil butter by The Crafter’s Workshop to add some faux stitches. I then matted my images with pale yellow cardstock to make them stand out and popped them off the page using some foam core tape.

I love creating clusters and add the to most of my pages. Here, I used laser cutouts from Color Swatch Lavender and Moonlit Garden collections by 49 and Market along with a large cat sticker and some cat stamps to build my clusters. Yes, these are real stamps from around the world and most of them have the postmark on them. I chose ones that most closely resembled Jupiter and matched my color palette.

Lastly, I added a few yellow enamel dots and created my title by making a double set of letters using an Echo Park Paper alpha die cut.

Join us at Color Dare and create a project using at least 3 of the 4 pastel hues shown. Don’t forget to share your creation with us!

This page was made using Weekly Sketch Challenge 500 at A Cherry on Top Crafts. I didn’t have a bunch of 2 X 2 photos so I just used 2 4 X 6 photos instead. Instead of a fall theme, I used a pastel palette and flowers. I moved the title for better contrast against a purple background.

That’s all for this week. If you like color palette challenges, join the Taylor Swift themed one I am hosting this month here. I will be back soon with a new page.
