Scrapbook Challenge
Look For Beauty In The Every Day
Many Many Mushrooms!
Hi scrappers! This week I scrapped some photos from last fall from a trip to Mammoth Lakes in California. My husband and I have gone several times in the past to look at the leaves when entire groves of trees turn brilliant yellow!
I used a sheet of pinkish red paper from Vicki Boutin’s Evergreen & Holly stack, once again using Christmas paper for a non-Christmas project! I then cut down a piece of Momenta polka dot cardstock and paired it with some woodgrain paper by The Paper Studio. I used a sheet of neutral cardstock by American Crafts to mat my photos and then found some additional paper scraps in my stash to create some clusters and accents. I then used some laser cutouts by 49 and Market and Arden (which worked amazingly well together. You can’t even tell they are from different manufacturers) and layered them behind my photo and created a border along the bottom of little mushrooms. I added a tag by Simple Stories because it was the perfect color and matched the theme of the page. Some adhesive brads and enamel dots also by Simple Stories finish the page.
The color palette for this page comes from Soul Scrapper’s March Color Board challenge. The fall-inspired colors on this page worked well with my photos and I liked the way the vibrant yellow-green contrasted with rust red and brown.
I used Sketch N Scrap sketch 326 for this page. The sketch was simple but allowed for lots of embellishment. Instead of an accent stripe along the bottom, I created a border detail with mushroom punch outs instead.
That’s all for this installment. I’m hoping to squeeze in one more page for the month of March. I’ll see you next time! Join me on Instagram and YouTube if you are looking for more paper crafting content!
