Purple And Green Pastels
Hi scrappers! I am back with some cute pictures of my husband and our cat Europa. My husband is definitely her favorite person so he can get away with clipping her claws and she will grudgingly cooperate. Here are some photos of her getting her regular mani-pedi!
I used some basic gray cardstock as my background and then added a square of spring green paper with a very subtle diagonal line pattern. This paper came from a gigantic stack whose manufacturer has been lost time. The paper is so thin that it can’t stand as a background paper on its own but it works well here and I’m trying to use it up!
I added a scrap of Typewriter Font paper by Recollections that I had left over from a previous project and tore the edge at the top for a distressed look. I created my title using an alpha die by Echo Park and added a mixed media element with stencil butter and a stencil by The Crafters Workshop. I love their stencil butters because they are thick but spread easily (like butter!) I have tried several other texture mediums and they have all completely dried out after only a coupe of uses. I have had this one for several years and it it has only dried a little around the rim of the container. I highly recommend!
Almost all the other products I used are from 49 and Market, including fabric tape, laser cutouts, chipboard, and ephemera bits from their Viken collection, and laser cutouts from their Color Swatch Lavender collection. I sprinkled in some adhesive pearls by Honey Bee Stamps and splattered the edges with purple acrylic paint to finish.
There are never enough days in the month for me to get to all the challenges I want to participate in, but when I saw this color palette at Color, Stories, Investigation, I knew I had to try to squeeze this one in.I love the combination of purple, green and gray. I also used the following “evidence” from their list of suggested prompts:
Stripes
Washi Tape (I used a washi ticket sticker)
Flowers
Leaves
Fabric (I used fabric tape)
Paint Splatters
Labels
Ribbon (I used laser cutouts of ribbon)
This project’s sketch comes from the Weekly Sketch Challenge at A Cherry on Top Crafts. I used mixed media elements for the dotted line circles and was able to replicate the text background paper pretty closely. As always, I gave it my own flair with lots of extra embellishments.
Lastly, this page was made for the This or That challenge at Soul Scrappers. I was shocked that I had organically pulled most of the required elements for this page before double checking their list!
That’s all for now. Thank you for visiting and I will see you all soon with another page!
