Color Dare Design Team Challenge 708
Our Little Princess
Dreamy Lilac And Teal
Hi everyone! I am back with Color Dare for an all new color challenge, one that happens to feature some of my favorite colors! I decided to use a photo of my cat Europa for this page. From the angle this picture was taken, she looks like a fluffy circle with ears!
I love purple and teal, and I love them together, so it was serendipitous that I found this Dreamers in Love paper by Prima that I used as my background. I liked that it had purple and teal accents amid all the tan and white textures. I then added laser cut elements and ephemera bits from the Viken collection by 49 and Market. I also used some laser cut elements from the Color Swatch Lavender collection because the colors matched.
When I was making my page, I forgot to record adding paper doilies by Bo Bunny and Doodlebug as well as gluing down my big window cutout. I think I was too into my podcast and got distracted! I wove a strip of paper by Vicki Boutin over the top of one edge which added some depth and used the same paper to mat my photo and make it pop. The title comes from the Fairy Dust die cut pack by Kaiser Craft, and the raised chipboard pieces are by Stamperia. I felt like the little cat piece was perfect for the page and popped both it and my photo up with some foam core tape. I added some turquoise and white adhesive pearls by Honey Bee Stamps because I will forever be obsessed with enamel dots and other sprinkly bits.
Join me at Color Dare for challenge 708 by creating a project with at least 2 of the colors above. I ended up using quite a bit of neutral tones in this particular layout, but you can use just purple and teal if you prefer. We can’t wait to see what you make!
This page was made using sketch 480 from A Cherry on Top Crafts. It worked out perfectly that I found a window cutout in my pack of ephemera bits, and both the color and style matched my page so well. I substituted a couple of small doilies for the big, stitched circle and moved where my title was located since it was so long.
That’s all for this week. Thank you for visiting and I will see you soon with another page. Looking for an additional paper craft challenge to participate in? Check out the Taylor Swift-themed one I host here.
