Bright Bolds And Geometric Patterns

Hi scrappers! This week I dug some photos out of my stash taken at the very first Palm Tree music festival held in 2023 in Dana Point, CA. The lineup featured The Midnight, Tove Lo, Ellie Goulding, and others.

I started with some neon yellow-green hexagon print paper from Amy Tangerine’s Brave + Bold collection. The pattern reminds me of chicken wire! This is one of those papers where I wasn’t sure when or how I was over going to use it because it’s so bright, but I decided to just go for it even though I wasn’t sure if it would be too much. I paired it with some teal paper that had a distressed grid pattern in the same bright yellow-green and triple matted my photos using paper scraps. Surprisingly, I had a big paper scrap that was also neon yellow and used that as one of my matts.

I used a large tag die by Momenta and a striped paper scrap to make a tag accent and added a fuzzy brad by Doodlebug. The brad was a very similar color to some matte enamel dots I used. The texture on these is so cool compared to the normal, shiny ones I usually see.

I added in some ephemera by Pebbles Inc and Vicki Boutin and used an alpha die by Echo Park Paper for my title. An entire sheet of 3D palm tree stickers by Recollections was the perfect addition to this page.

I like to add them in clusters of 3 or 4, sometimes in multiple colors and sometimes in monochrome. My stash has grown to include an impressive collection of colors and textures from shiny, to glittery to matte. I added 3 clusters of 3 dots in various sizes in a vibrant lime green.

This page was made using the August sketch from Rochelle Spears. I liked the mixed orientation of the photos and the scalloped detail in the background. I used a branding strip from a 49 and Market paper that had a scalloped lace design on it that worked well as an approximation to the sketch.
