Natural Treasure
Pink And Teal Beetle And Butterflies
Hi scrappers! This week I am scrapping a photo that was taken at the San Diego Natural History Museum. One of the walls near the insect exhibit features a giant mural depicting oversized bugs and butterflies. My husband snapped this photo of me standing in front of it.
I used some light, peachy cardstock by 49 and Market as my background. This paper is nice and thick and makes a great base especially when layering lots of things on top of it. I then took a piece of paper from the P13 Naturalist stack and cut out squares featuring a beetle and a butterfly. I used the reverse side of the paper that has a sepia-toned world map on it and combined it with some Type Writer Print paper by Recollections to place behind my photos. I used a punch by Fiskars to make some pennants and sewed them down with some thick cord.
I used tickets and ephemera from the same P13 collection as well as some Tim Holtz ephemera to keep with the bug and butterfly theme. The title was made using chipboard words by 49 and Market.
This page was made using using a sketch from the Weekly Sketch Challenge at A Cherry on Top Crafts. Instead of 3 photos, I used two squares from cut-apart card and one 5 X 7 photo. Instead of leaves, I made a garland out of pennants and I moved where my title was to better fit the page.
