Scrapbook Challenge
Beautiful Day
Pastels And Embossing
Hi scrappers! I know it’s the middle of winter here in the Northern Hemisphere, but I ended up making a spring-themed page with lots of florals and pastels.
I used some blue paper from 49 and Market’s Kaleidoscope Solids collection as my background since the pattern is muted and I knew I would be using a rainbow of colors on top of it. From there, I raided my stash of scraps and cut 1 1/2 inch squares of both patterned and solid paper. I used a Sizzix embossing folder to add texture to the solid squares and then arranged them in an alternating pattern.
Since there was already so much color going on, I kept embellishments to a minimum, using up a sheet puffy stickers by Echo Park Paper (I love the little boba drinks!), glittery flowers by The Paper Studio, Love Story and Life in Bloom ephemera by Simple Stories, a couple of small pieces of washi tape by Lawn Fawn, and some iridescent adhesive gems by Honey Bee Stamps.
I found this sketch on Pinterest and really liked all the little squares. To replicate the splatters, I used multiple pastel colors of acrylic paint.
This page was created for the December 3 in a Row challenge at A Cherry on Top Crafts. I used the middle row with the color green, a free space, and rhinestones.
That’s all for this week. I’ll try and squeeze in one more page for 2025 but if not, I will see you all next year!
